Madhya Pradesh: Rural Population as per Census 2011

    Out of the entire population of the Madhya Pradesh state, 72.37% people reside in rural areas as per Census 2011. 52,557,404 people out of the total population live in rural area in which the number of males is 27,149,388 and females are 25,408,016.

     

    In rural areas, the female sex ratio was 936 females per 1000 males. The total number of children between 0-6 years living in rural areas was 8,325,731.

     

    In rural areas, the males and female literacy rate were 74.74 % and 48.49 % respectively. Average literacy rate in rural areas was 63.94%, however the total literates were 28,281,986.
