Rajasthan: Department of Local Self Government

The Department of local self Government is the scheming Department of all towns for all organizational rationale. It also carries out observing and harmonization role at state level for all 184 municipal corporations of Rajasthan state. Department of Local Self Government has a directorate to watch over the everyday execution of Urban Local Bodies.

After ratifying of 74th Constitutional Amendment Act, Local Bodies, which were formerly not the division of Indian Constitution, have now been allocated the Constitutional position. There are five conglomerates, 19 Class II, 58 Class III and 72 Class IV ULBs and 30 Councils in Rajasthan.

The major tasks OF Department Of Local Self Government are:

• Slotting of Advocates in Court Cases, inspection of reply, outlook on sentence, pronouncement for appeal or no appeal, analysis of Bye-Laws and regulations in Acts and Rules
• Annexing and barring of Election of Municipal Boards and Municipal boundary
• Execution of HRD Plans for elected council and officials
• Accomplishment of Poverty mitigation and social task Programs
• Issuance of Administrative, Technical and Financial approvals which are not in the control of the selected board

• Legal Cell lead by Assistant Legal Remembrancer
• Project Cell lead by Project Director from All India Services

• Statistics Cell lead by Deputy Director
• TFC Cell lead by Mission Director from All India Services
• Vigilance Cell lead by R.A.S officer
