    State Special Branch

     

    The roles of State Special Branch are:

    • Border Intelligence
    • Internal Intelligence
    • Counter Espionage
    • Security of VIP/ VVIP/ Vital Installations
    • Security Training School
    • Foreigners including pass-ports
    • Crimes linked with official Secrets Act
    • Dealing with Intelligence Bureau and related Intelligence Agencies
    • Harmonization concerning security matters and intelligence with Paramilitary Forces, Defence Services and other Agencies matters linking to security.

     

    Introduction

    The Rajasthan Police Criminal Investigation Department was diverged in the 1965 into Crime Branch, up keeping Criminal intelligence and Intelligence Branch dealing solely with other matters of intelligence on the prototype of Intelligence Bureau. Being lead by Additional Director General of Police, the State Special Branch has committed staff and officers specifically recruited and skilled for Intelligence work who serve as the ears and eyes of Rajasthan Police. Counter Intelligence and Border Intelligence are the priority sectors of State Special Branch. With the help of security agencies and central intelligence, the State Special Branch has thrived over the years in capturing a number of anti nationals and surveillance agents. The State Special Branch is also accountable for the safety of Chief Minister and Governor of Rajasthan. Other significant subjects of State Special Branch work comprises of listing of foreigners and immigration verification at Jaipur International Airport.
