The 12th Rajiv Gandhi Awards were presented on August 19. The awards were instituted in the memory of late Prime Minsiter Rajiv Gandhi. This year 11 personalities from different fields were given the honour. They were- Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Ramesh Chandra Agrawal, Vineet Jain, Rajashri Birla, Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Krishna Patil, Avika Gaur, Sam Pitroda, Rohit Kochhar, Dr. G. Madhavan Nair.
