Yes, researchers from ESET, a cybersecurity company have stated that a total of 12 malicious applications carry with them VajraSpy.
VajraSpy is actually a remote access trojan (RAT). The malware VajraSpy is actually made to use for the purpose of espionage. Moreover, it is important to note that this malware has been specifically used in order to target users in Pakistan largely. Six of these 12 applications were available on third-party stores. The other six were available on Google Play to download.
What does the malware do?
The 12 applications containing the malware could prove to be extremely dangerous for the ones who download them. After any of these 12 applications gets downloaded on the smartphone, the app would spread malware on the phone. The name of the malware is VajraSpy. The malware will then be able to extract all the important data stored in the smartphone. This includes messages, device location, files, contacts, and more.

A total of 12 applications are found to have dangerous malware that can easily extract all the important data of a device. A majority of these applications have been deleted by Google Play. However, in case any user still has any of the applications already downloaded to a device, it is advised that the user deletes that application immediately without delay.
