West Bengal: Literacy rate as per Census 2011

West Bengal’s literacy rate has witnessed aloft tendency and it was 76.26 % as per Census 2011. The male literacy rate was 81.69 % however the female literacy was 66.57 %.

West Bengal’s literacy rate has witnessed aloft tendency and it was 76.26 % as per Census 2011. The male literacy rate was 81.69 % however the female literacy was 66.57 %.

 In the year 2001, West Bengal’s literacy rate was 68.64 % out of which the male literacy stood at  77.02 % and female literacy at 59.61 %.

 The total number of literates in West Bengal stood at 61,538,281 out of which the males were 33,818,810 however the females were 27,719,471.
