What Can You Do with Scheduled Actions?
With Scheduled Actions feature, you can automate many different kinds of tasks, including:
Daily summaries: Scheduled Actions feature can be utilized to receive a summary of your emails or calendar each morning.
Content ideas: This is not just a feature for correcting your timing issues but also to receive timely information and ideas like blog post ideas every Monday.
Event updates: You can also get a wrap-up of an event, like an award show, the day after it airs.
Personal suggestions: Receive weather-based outfit suggestions each morning.
You simply tell Gemini what you want done and when—Gemini takes care of the rest.
How Does Scheduled Actions Work?
Here's how you can use Scheduled Actions in Gemini:
1. Set Up a Task
Let Gemini know what you want to automate-say, "Summarize my unread emails every morning at 8 AM."
Say it's a one-time or recurring task.
2. Choose the Trigger
Set the task to run at a specific time, on a certain date, or after a particular event.
3. Manage Your Actions
- You can schedule up to 10 active tasks at a time.
- All your scheduled actions can be viewed, paused, or deleted from the new “Scheduled actions” tab in Gemini’s Settings (available on both mobile and desktop).
- If the task depends on your location, Gemini will use the location where you first created the action to ensure consistent results.
4. Get Notified
Gemini delivers the results as push notifications on your mobile device, so you don't have to open the app every time.
Why is This Feature Important?
Scheduled Actions is part of Google's effort to make Gemini a truly helpful AI assistant that takes charge of your tasks and routines ahead of time, rather than merely being a talking tool. Other AI assistants, like ChatGPT, even recently started offering similarly competitive automatic reminder features, which directly compare with Gemini.
Google Gemini's Scheduled Actions is a powerful new feature for automating repetitive tasks. It is designed to keep you organized, save you time, and make your digital assistant actually useful. Begin using Scheduled Actions immediately if you are a Gemini Pro, Ultra, or specific Workspace user to enjoy a smarter and more proactive AI assistant.
