CAT 2021: IIM Ahmedabad will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 on 28th November (Sunday). The exam is held for admission to postgraduate (PG) management programmes. CAT exam 2021 will be held online at assigned test centres in three sessions - 8:30 - 10:30 am, 12:30 - 2:30 pm and 4:30 - 6:30 pm across the country. To take the exam, candidates will have to follow certain rules and regulations as prescribed by the authorities.
IIM Ahmedabad has issued a set of guidelines with regard to the documents to be carried by the students to the exam centre on the day of the exam. Those who have applied for the CAT 20o21 examinations can check below the complete guidelines issued by the conducting body with regard to the examination.
CAT 2021 - Important Documents
According to the guidelines issued, the students scheduled to appear for the CAT 2021 exams are required to complete the document verification process before entering the exam centre. Students are required to produce the below-given list of documents to verify their identity as exam takers. The documents include -
- Hard Copy of the CAT 2021 Admit Card with photograph
- Original Photo ID proof (College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, or an IDentification Affidavit
- Medical Certificate for candidates using pacemaker or implants (metal) or other devices for medical reasons
- Scribe Affidavit for PwD candidates
Along with the mentioned documents, candidates are also allowed to carry masks and hand sanitizers inside the test centres as per the COVID-19 protocols.
CAT 2021 Exam Day Guidelines
As mentioned, CAT is an annual examination conducted in three sessions for MBA admissions. Candidates appearing for the examinations must make sure that they cross check every information mentioned on the exam admit card including the subject details, slot details, Candidate information etc
Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination. Students will be provided with the reporting time to the exam centre on their registered mobile number and email id.
CAT 2021 - Items prohibited at the exam centre
Students appearing for the CAT 2021 exams must make note of the following items which are prohibited by the conducting body at the exam centre. These include -
- Mobile Phones
- Electronic Gadgets
- Calculators
- Watches
- Stationery items
- Wallets
- Goggles
Students will be provided with the scribble pad pages at the exam centre itself.
CAT 2021 - Dress Code
Students attending the CAT 2021 exams must follow the below-given dress code when attending exams.
- According to the details provided, students can wear socks, plain pullovers, sweaters, cardigans (without any pockets).
- Candidates are not allowed to wear any jewellery (items containing metal), shoes/ footwear with thick soles, and garments with large buttons.
Exam Day procedures
Candidates reaching the exam centre will have to complete the registration process where they will be asked to complete IRIS and Photo Registration. After the IRIS scanning is completed candidates will be required to sign their respective attendance sheets.
Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam lab until the completion of the exam. Students can however take breaks before entering the lab. In case of a medical emergency, the students can opt for a break after entering the exam lab.
