CBSE 12th Sociology Term 1 Exam: Board acknowledges error, to take action against 'inappropriate' question

CBSE 12th Sociology Exam – Inappropriate Question row: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) acknowledged an error which had occurred while setting of Sociology Exam Paper for the on-going CBSE 12th Term 1 Exam 2021-22. In a statement issued after the exam, the CBSE Board acknowledged that an inappropriate question was asked in the Class 12 Sociology Exam held today. The Board held Term 1 Exam for Sociology subject for Class 12 students today i.e. on 1st December 2021. Like all other papers for Term 1 Exam, the CBSE 12th Sociology Paper was also based on MCQs – Multiple Choice Questions.

Board Assures Action Against Involved Persons

Along with acknowledging the erroneous and inappropriate question, the CBSE Board also noted that it plans to take necessary action in this regards. The board has assured students and parents that it will take action against the concerned persons involved in setting of the Class 12 Sociology Exam Paper. The official statement issued by CBSE Board on the matter reads ““A question has been asked in today's class 12 sociology Term 1 exam which is inappropriate and in violation of the CBSE guidelines for external subject experts for setting question papers. CBSE acknowledges the error made and will take strict action against the responsible persons.”

 

A second tweet from CBSE on the matter further informs that “The CBSE guidelines for paper setters clearly state that they have to ensure the questions should be academic oriented only and should be class, religion neutral and should not touch upon domains that could harm sentiments of people based on social and political choices.” This message was issued by the in the form of a tweet via its official account.

 

Notice about Printing of Question Papers

In a related update, the Board also issued an important notification or update regarding the printing of question papers by the schools for the on-going term 1 examination. The Board noted that it has come to its notice that some schools or exam centres are printing both English and Hindi versions of question papers and distributing it among the students. The notice reads that this practice is against the the directions supplied by the CBSE and exam centres doing so have been asked to take corrective measures.
