CBSE Board Exam 2020 Postponed: The Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed the Class 10 and 12 Board examinations until March 31, 2020. The examinations have been postponed by the board amidst the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. The CBSE decided to postpone the Class 10 snd 12 Board examinations following the MHRD advisory issued. The revised dates of the postponed examinations of the CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations will be provided on the official website soon. A notification was issued by the MHRD for the cancellation of all the examinations being conducted by the CBSE and NIOS boards along with the university examinations.
Decision after MHRD Notification
The decision to postpone the on-going CBSE Board Exam 2020 comes following the circular of MHRD which stated that “All ongoing examinations, including that of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) & university exams, may be rescheduled after March 31: Ministry of Human Resource Development”. The notification confirmed that all ongoing exams including CBSE Board, NIOS Board and University Exams will be rescheduled and will now be held after 31st March 2020. In accordance with this, the HRD ministry has also asked concerned authorities to halt all evaluation work of answer books by the teachers until 31st March.
JEE Main Exam to be Rescheduled
The MHRD notification about postponement and rescheduling of exams also mentions JEE Main 2020 Exam which is scheduled to be held April 2020. The notification mentions that as CBSE Board Exams will be rescheduled after 31st March 2020 and they might clash with JEE Main 2020 April exam, the dates for the same will be rescheduled accordingly. The notification also states that JEE Main April Exam being a centralized national-level exam in which nearly 10 lakh students are expected to appear, candidates might have to travel to remote locations despite COVID-19 threat, it would be wise to reschedule the same for a later date.
