cbse result 2025 check online: What is Relative Grading? Why is it Important?

Relative grading means giving marks by comparing how students did with others in their class, not just their actual marks.

    • Based on comparison: Students get grades depending on how well they did compared to their classmates.

    • Fixed grade range: Boards like CBSE give grades like A1, A2, B1, etc., by dividing a fixed number of students into each grade.

    • Fairness across schools: If a subject is harder in some schools, relative grading helps keep results fair by adjusting for the difficulty level.

CBSE Class 10 Result: What is Relative Grading?

Relative grading is a way of giving marks by comparing students’ performance with others in the same group, instead of just looking at their actual scores.

    • Based on comparison: Students are graded by comparing how well they did compared to their classmates.

    • Fixed grade range: CBSE gives grades like A1, A2, B1, etc., based on a set percentage of students getting each grade.

    • Fairness across schools: If one subject is harder in some places, relative grading helps make results more balanced and fair for everyone.
