CBSE to issue hard copies of Migration Certificates only on request, Get Details Here

CBSE changed the rule for issuing migration certificates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has now come up with a rule to provide hard copies of the migration certificate. From now onwards, the migration certificates will be issued only to those students who request them to the board. The same will be effective from 2021. From the year2024, the board will completely stop issuing hard copies of migration certificates.

Statement From The Board

“CBSE has developed the infrastructure to provide soft copies of the migration certificates on DigiLocker. Accordingly, it has been decided that hard copy of the migration certificate will be issued only to the students who would make a request for the same to the board, otherwise soon the result will be declared, and the soft copy of the migration certificate will be made available on DigiLocker,” the board said.

Not only the migration certificates but CBSE also gives mark sheets and pass certificates through DigiLocker.

CBSE migration certificates are released after the declaration of class 10th and 12th board exam results. The Board had partnered with DigiLocker in 2019, a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) initiative to provide digital certificates to the students

How to get the CBSE migration certificate from DigiLocker?

To get any CBSE documents on DigiLocker, students are required to sign up with their credentials. Last year, the board exam result of CBSE was released through DigiLocker, apart from the official website.

How to get the hard copy of the migration certificate?

To get the hard copy of the migration certificate, the student will have to send only one valid photo identity like - Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, a Driving License or a bank passbook along with an application to the board.

Migration certificate helps in verifying that a person was a student of that particular board. The document is essential for any student who changes board after class 10 and for those who are applying for higher education.
