
The Delhi State Government Directorate of Education has announced that the state now has its own Education Board as the Delhi Education Board registered today. The government had earlier announced its decision to set up the Delhi Board of School Education.
The Directorate of Education has congratulated the students, teachers, and others stating that the new board will bring the most awaited reform in the assessment system in the state.
Schools to be affiliated in 2021-22
State Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that approximately 20-25 schools will be under the new education board in the coming 2021-22 academic session.
The chief minister also informed that the cabinet has given its approval for constituting its own school education board - Delhi Board of School Education, on March 6, 2021. The new education board will have a governing body chaired by the Education Minister - Manish Sisodia along with an Executive Body for day-to-day functions headed by the CEO.
The committees will also have experts from professional industries, the education sector, principles of government, and private schools and bureaucrats.
There are roughly 1000 government schools and 1700 private schools in Delhi with all of them affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Delhi Government has last year formed two committees to prepare the scheme and framework for the formation of the Delhi Board of School Education and the curriculum reforms.
CBSE Board Examinations
According to the schedule available, the CBSE Board Exam 2021 will start from May 4, 2021, and will end on June 11, 2021. The results of the CBSE class 10 and 12 examinations will be announced on the official website by July 15, 2021.
