Delhi School Admission 2021: First Selection List for EWS, DG Released at edudel.nic.in

As per the updates, the first computerized draw for Delhi School admission 2021 to entry-level classes has been released. Parents can check the list at the official website - edudel.nic.in.

Delhi School Admission 2021: As per the latest update, the first computerised draw or the selection list for admission to entry-level classes for seats reserved under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) in the private schools have been released. All the parents can check the first selection list for EWS/ DG category at the official website - edudel.nic.in. Earlier, the first draw was scheduled to be held on 30th April 2021. However, it got delayed due to the ongoing COVID 19 situation.

The selection list will likely contain the name of the student and father's name under the category of the economically weaker section, disadvantaged groups and children with special needs. Apart from this, the application process for 75% of general category seats too had been delayed by over two months due to the pandemic.

The DoE's official order on Delhi School Admission 2021 said, "It is hereby informed that the first computerized draw of lots for admission to EWS, DG, and CWSN category for academic session 2021-22 is going to be held on June 15 at 3 pm." The notice further reads that a monitoring cell shall be constituted under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Director (District) to redress the queries and grievances about Delhi School Admission 2021 under EWS/ DG category.

Reservation Policy

Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act of 2009, at least 25% of seats in entry-level classes - nursery, kindergarten, and Class 1 have to be reserved for EWS, DG (22%) and children with disabilities (3%). The admission procedure for these 25% reserved seats was delayed, which caused anxiety among parents trying to enrol their children in the private schools of Delhi.
