Haryana state government has announced that it will be providing the class 11 and 12 students in the state with free tablets. According to reports, the distribution of the tablets will commence soon and a total of 5 lakh tablets worth Rs. 560 Crore will be distributed among the students for the upcoming academic session. The government has also announced that it plans to distribute tablets to students from other classes in the future.
According to the state government, the main motive behind distributing the tablets is to promote online education in the state.
The state government had earlier decided to distribute over 14000 tablets at state-run schools across 22 districts. The tablets to be distributed will have a mobile device management system along with an internet facility. State teachers are of the opinion that various other measures need to be taken in order to improve the education system in the state which includes recruiting more teachers to manage the workload.
Various other government plans were also discussed in a meeting conducted with the state CM and other ministers including the Education Minister - Kanwar Pal, Transportation Minister Mool Chand Sharma, Power Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala, and Agriculture Minister JP Dalal.
Haryana School Reopening
According to media reports, the state government has decided to reopen the schools at 100 percent capacity from December 1, 2021. The decision was taken by the government after the state recorded a considerable decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state.
According to reports, classes will be held strictly following the COVID protocols and guidelines which include wearing masks, proper sanitization and social distancing.
