
HP School, College Reopening: With the COVID-19 situation improving in the state, the Himachal Pradesh State Government has decided to allow reopening of Schools and Colleges in the state from tomorrow. As per the latest update, the HP State Government has permitted offline classes to be held for students of all classes from 17th February – Thursday. The news about reopening of educational institutions in the country was confirmed by the HP CM Ram Thakur in a press meet.
Decision Taken at Cabinet Review Meeting
The decision to allow reopening of schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh was taken at a COVID-19 review meeting held today – 16th February. As per media reports, the Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet convened under the chairmanship of CM Ram Thakur to review the prevailing situation around the pandemic. In the meeting, CM reviewed the current statistics and active case numbers in the state. Looking at a significant improvement in the COVID-19 numbers, the state government has decided to allow educational institutions to reopen.
Physical Lectures to Resume for Class 1 to 8 Student
The decision about reopening of all schools and colleges in Himachal Pradesh is likely to impact Class 1 to 8 students the most. Earlier, from 1st February, the state government had already permitted reopening of colleges and schools for senior students i.e., students of Class 9 above. Now with the latest order, all students including Class 1 to 8 students would resume physical lectures at their respective schools.
While schools and colleges have been allowed to resume physical lectures, the state government has urged all administrators to ensure that all COVID-19 protocols and guidelines are followed strictly. In addition to schools and colleges, the state government has also allowed reopening of all gyms, cinema halls to reopen and all kinds of langars to take place, including those in religious places.
