Important Factors for New Assessment Scheme

CISCE Board i.e. the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination has released a detailed account of the new assessment policy on the basis of which students will be awarded marks for the papers which were cancelled in the light of COVID-19 pandemic. The assessment scheme takes into account the following important factors while computing a student's marks in the cancelled papers:

  • Average marks scored by the student in papers held so far
  • Internal Assessment (for 10th Class) or Subject project and Practical Work
  • Percentage Subject Internal Assessment (for ICSE/ 10th Class) or Percentage subject Project and Practical Work (For 12th / ISC)

Assessment Framework to Check General Academic Ability and Proficiency

While releasing the ICSE Revised Assessment Policy, CISCE Board said that the new Marks imputation formulae has been designed in a way to test both General Academic Ability, through average marks scored by the students in other subjects and students’ proficiency in respective subject through the internal assessment and project work. The evaluation matrix has been developed after thorough study of the previous year’s results and to 'ensure fairness to all the candidates' who appeared in the board examinations this year.
