Along with the JEE Main 2021 Results, the exam authority also announced that a total of 44 candidates had secured 100 percentile marks of which 18 candidates had secured the top spot i.e. All India Rank 1in the engineering entrance examination. One such JEE Main 2021 Topper - All India Rank 1 Amaiya Singhal shared his success story with the media. In his interaction with the press, he mentions how Elon Musk and his future Entrepreneurial Ambitions kept him motivated to clear the toughest engineering entrance exam in the country in the top spot. Let’s find out!
IIT Pedigree
For Amaiya, engineering emerged as the most obvious and natural choice because of his personal interest as well as his family background. He hails from a family of IITians, with his Father and Grandfather both being engineering graduates who passed out of IIT BHU. His brother is also an engineering buff who cleared JEE Main to join IIT Guwahati in 2018. Coming from a family of IITians, and his personal interest and zeal to join premier technology institutes helped him ace JEE Main 2021.
Motivation amid Uncertainty
The year 2021 was a tumulus for everyone, with the pandemic affecting different people in different ways. Like all other JEE aspirants, one of the biggest challenges that Amaiya faced during his preparatory days was to keep himself motivated for such a long time – throughout classes 11 and 12. His family, especially his IITian brother kept him going, and helped him sail through his preparatory phase. Along with family, Amaiya also had the hunger and fight in him to keep studying through the ups and downs of the pandemic year to emerge victorious, securing JEE Main AIR Rank 1.
Appearing for 3 Attempts of JEE Main
Being faced with one of the toughest engineering entrance exams can put anyone in self-doubt, no matter how good your preparation for it is; and this was no different for Amaiya. Like many candidates, he also decided to appear for three out of a total of 4 attempts or sessions for JEE Main 2021 exam. In February and March attempts, he scored 99.94% and 99.98% percentile, respectively, but in the April/July attempt, he managed to secure 100 percentile marks and decided not to appear for the final attempt in August-Sept 2021. Talking about why he attempted JEE Main in three sessions, Amaiya says that despite scoring 99.9 percentile in the first two sessions, he was not comfortable or satisfied with his performance and therefore, he decided to give the third attempt to be sure of his call for JEE Advanced 2021.
Elon Musk and his Entrepreneurial Ambitions
As far as and inspirational figures are concerned, Amaiya names Elon Musk – the founder of Electric Car Company Tesla and visionary firm SpaceX as his role model. He is a big fan of Musk and inspired by him, he plans to pursue Computer Science. Like his role model, after completing this engineering, Amaiya plans to start his own company to fulfil his entrepreneurial dream.
Looking back at his journey of JEE Main 2021, Amaiya feels that he has a long way to go and securing AIR 1 is just the first step in the right direction. He expresses his gratitude for all the teachers, mentors and trainers who have helped him prepare well for the entrance exam and gives the credit for his success to them. He especially remembers all his school teachers, who built a foundation on which he could scale his achievement.
