Jharkhand Govt to Launch Apps: As per the latest update, the Jharkhand State Government is planning to launch two applications that will facilitate classroom-like education experience at home and reduce educational loss due to lockdowns. The apps are being developed Jharkhand school education and literacy (SEL) department are going to be launched on 3rd December 2020. The two dedicated applications being developed by the SEL Department of Jharkhand Govt are being developed as the education department have doubts of smooth functioning of the schools this academic session. As per the information shared so far, of the two apps being developed, one is titled Learnytic will be dedicated for the students of class 9 to class 12, while the second app is named Digischool which will facilitate education of students of class 1 to class 8.

Uncertainty over Reopening of Schools

As per media reports, the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) was planning to reopen schools in the state for Class 9 to 12 students in the state. The state government was planning to reopen schools on conditional basis; however, the plan was shelved after the recent surge in the number of COVID cases across the country. Looking at the prevailing situation, the state government decided to conceptualize App based learning methodology for students to ensure academic continuity.

Presentations, Videos, Question Sets available via App

According to the statement issued by the JEPC director Shailesh Chourasia ““The app for class 9 to class 12 contains e-book, regular syllabus, revised syllabus, digital content, video and animation contents, model questions papers and their answers. It’s a complete package. We are trying to give a classroom education kind of experience to students through the application.” He also added the apps developed include digital learning content provided in presentations format so that students could grab it easily. Along with presentations, the apps will also provide videos and animations to make students understand the topics better.

Apart from this, the app also provides detailed question sets that will be available to all the students for all classes. Moreover, if students are unable to solve the questions the app will guide them how to solve it and which topic they should go through for this. Moreover, students and teachers will also be trained in proper use of the apps to ensure that students are able to put it to the best use.
