JNVU Jodhpur Result 2018: Jai Narayan Vyas University elections completed peacefully

JNVU Jodhpur Result 2018:  Amid tight security, the Jodhpur Student union election at the Jai Narayan Vyas University came to an end on Monday.  After banning the entry of a few disturbing characters and attack on vehicles, polling remained peaceful. The Jodhpur Police also arrested five female students for indulging in bogus voting and took them to the police station where they got bail afterwards. As per the information by the chief election officer of the university, Avdhesh Sharma, total polling percentage remained 46.22%. The counting of votes was held today amid strict security arrangements. The polling began on a very slow pace in the morning which gained momentum after 10.00 am yesterday. By the time polling ended, total 9,936 students out of 21,499 students exercised their franchise to vote, which was about 3% below last year’s 49.05%.

Sharma stated that the science faculty recorded the highest voting percentage at 58.84% whereas the commerce faculty recorded the lowest voting at 29.76%. The University administration and police have put in adequate arrangements to avoid false voting and clash among the students by keeping them away from the polling centers. The students were allowed inside the polling booths and college only after they showed their ID cards.

4:44 PM: At present, according to news from Balesar, Bilada, and Bhopalgarh, ABVP and NSUI both have won.

Counting of posts at Kamala Nehru College and Institute of Sansthan Studies is being done only in the designated faculties. For the class representatives, votes in the arts, commerce, engineering, law and science faculty is being counted. From 9.00 am, 84 ballots were sent to the concerned faculty from MBM Engineering College. Only 46.22 per cent of the votes were cast in the university, which is three per cent lower than the previous year.
