
According to reports, Kendriya Vidyalayas will be conducting the term-end examinations for the students in the online mode for the students from classes 3 to 8. The final examinations for the students from classes 3 to 8 will be conducted from March 1 to 20, 2021 while the final exam results are expected to be declared by March 31, 2021.
According to the official notification released the examination will be conducted in both online and offline mode. The offline exams will be conducted only for those students who do not have access to devices or face any connectivity issues.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Exam Pattern
The final exams for the students from classes 3 to 5 will be conducted for 40 marks while the question paper will have Multiple Choice Questions for 10 marks, while 15 marks will be given to descriptive and oral questions. For the students from classes 6 to 8, the exams will be conducted for 80 marks and the question paper will have 25 marks Multiple Choice Questions while 40 marks will be given for descriptive questions and 15 marks for oral questions.
Descriptive Questions
The Description questions for the students from classes 3 to 5 are to be answered in one or two sentences while the description questions for students from classes 6 to 8 are to be answered in at least one paragraph.
Oral Exams
The Oral exams will be conducted before the commencement of the exam session for each subject and student individually. The time slots for the examinations will be announced for the students individually and it is expected to be completed by February 27, 2021, or as per the decision of the Deputy Commissioner concerned. According to the notification, in case there are connectivity issues the oral test component can replace the entire written test. 20 percent weightage will be given to internal assessment while 80 percent weightage will be given for the term-end exams.
The examination will also have a minimum of four sets of question papers prepared for each class and every class two or three different time slots to address the problems of limited devices and connectivity. A no-detention policy will also be continued according to the RTE Act for classes 3 to 8. It must also be noted that parents' consent is also required for the offline examinations and the new academic session will begin on April 1, 2021.
