Maharashtra Schools Reopening: As per the updates, the Maharashtra school reopening decision is likely to be taken in two days. The state government will analyze the prevailing COVID-19 situation before deciding on the reopening of offline classes in schools, colleges and other educational institutions. Minister of State Bacchu Kadu has informed that the government would conduct a high-level meeting soon. Bacchu Kadu on Maharashtra School Reopening said, "A decision has not been taken yet. However, a meeting would be held on the same in 2 days. Schools have started in the rest of the state, it should be started in our own state too, and it is everyone's feeling. But the decision is will be taken in the meeting after thinking about the increasing number of COVID 19 cases in Maharashtra after Kerala."

Decision Has Not Been Taken Yet

Even as schools in several states have reopened, the Maharashtra government has not yet decided to reopen schools in the state's urban areas. On which Varsha Gaikwad said that the government would discuss the new SOPs and school reopening guidelines soon. However, she assured that students' health and safety are the priority and will be considered while deciding on Maharashtra school reopening.

SOP Guidelines to be Released Soon

The government will soon release the standard operating procedures and guidelines related to Maharashtra School Reopening. It is expected that schools will reopen with 50% capacity and with the continuation of online classes. The final decision is still being awaited. Schools were closed in March last year ahead of a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of novel coronavirus infection. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra reported 4,196 fresh COVID-19 positive cases and 104 fatalities, taking the tally of infections to 64,64,876.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the status of the reopening of schools of different states. He also prioritized the vaccination drive for teachers and staff. Experts have said that teachers and non-teaching staff in schools should be vaccinated first before the school reopens.

Maharashtra FYJC 2nd Merit List 2021

As per the recent updates, the School Education and Sports Department of the State Government of Maharashtra will release the Maharashtra First-Year Junior Colleges (FYJC) Second Merit List 2021 (provisional and cutoff) on 4th September in online mode. Candidates will be able to check their allotted seat, college and cut-offs on 11thadmission.org.in. All the shortlisted candidates in the second provisional merit list and want to accept their allotted institution have to complete the admission formalities by 6th September.
