On Wednesday, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development launched an 'Integrated Government Online Training Portal' which is meant to provide all the resources required for building capacity of frontline workers. Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Aggarwal was quoted saying that the online portal as been launched by the MHRD in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.
He said that the Integrated Government Online Training Portal will provide the resources necessary to the paramedics, doctors, nurse, technicians and ANMS along with State Government officials, Civil Defence Officials, National Surveillance teams, volunteers of National Cadet Corps (NCC),Red Cross society and other organisations volunteering in preventing the spread of COVID-19. All such organisations will be equipped with the required skilled task force the training for which will be provided through the online portal.
Aggarwal added that the Health Ministry and the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi have also come together to introduce a training module for the physicians where they will be provided with technical guidance on the anti-natal care and labour management of the pregnant women who are either suspected or confirmed of the novel Coronavirus. He also mentioned that the Indian Air Force has been airlifting medical supplies, medical equipment and personnel from nodal points to North-East regions -Nagaland, Manipur, and Gangtok and Union Territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
On the Government’s position for dealing with patients with mild or very mild symptoms, Aggarwal said that temporary COVID care hospitals have been formed where work is in progress for taking care of such patients. On the contrary dedicated healthcare centres and hospitals have been developed for serious and critical patients. The Minister confirmed that 5194 cases have been conformed in the country so far with 149 deaths and 402 people discharged.
