The Rajasthan state government has announced the summer vacations for the schools in the state. As per the announcement made., the summer vacations in Rajasthan will begin from today - April 22, 2021, onwards. The official notification was issued by the government to announce the Summer vacations in schools due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state.
The summer vacations will continue in the state until June 6, 2021. According to the notification issued by the Rajasthan state government, the summer vacations will be conducted from April 22 to June 6, 2021, in the state government and private schools in Rajasthan. A 15-day lockdown was earlier imposed by the state and the closure of educational institutions was announced until May 3, 2021, by the state government.
The decision to close the schools was taken by the government as a measure to contain the spread of the disease and curb the effect of COVID-19 among the students and teachers in the state. The school teachers have been asked to remain alert for COVID-19 related duties.
According to the official announcement, the students will be given the full duration of Summer vacation until June 6, 2021, even if the COVID-19 cases see a reduction in the state. The official notification further defines the new role of the teachers during the summer vacation as vacation teachers will be given duties to help the government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Teachers will only be given off if they are not appointed for COVID-19 duties. The heads and principals of schools have also been asked to call teachers and school staff members to the schools only if necessary.
Rajasthan COVID-19 measures
In order to fight COVID-19, the state government imposed ‘Jan Anushasan Pakhwada’ for 15 days. Teachers were directed to work from home and prepare the exam results and stay in touch with the students and continue assessment through the Smile and Smile 20 online programmes.

The Rajasthan Board class 10 and 12 examinations have been postponed while the students from classes 8, 9, and 11 will be promoted to the next class directly. The schools have also been asked to continue with the online class.
