The central ministry has stated that the lockdown will continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones until August 31, 2020, and the schools, colleges, coaching institutions, and cinema halls will be closed until the end of August 2020.
Many of the state governments had earlier announced that the schools will remain closed until August 31, 2020, keeping in mind the rising COVID-19 cases in the respective states.
Schools, colleges, and other educational institutions across the country have been shut since March 2020 when the lockdown was first initiated. Since then the schools and colleges have been conducting the classes for the students in the online mode. Schools have resorted to conducting the classes for the students through a different online mode in order to make sure that the students do not miss out on the classes list due to the lockdown.
Schools have also cancelled the examinations for the students and decided to promote the students until class 11 to the next year without conducting the examinations. The respective state boards have however conducted the postponed board examinations and declared the results are well for the students.
