Telangana Open School Society cancels TOSS SSC, 2nd Year Inter Exams, Students to be promoted

TOSS SSC, Inter Exams 2020 Cancelled: As per the latest update coming in from Hyderabad, the Telangana Open School Society i.e. TOSS has decided to cancel TOSS SSC Exam 2020 and TOSS 2nd Year Inter Exams 2020 for Class 10 and Class 12 students in the light of COVID-19 pandemic. TOSS SSC, Inter Exams 2020 Cancelled: As per the latest update coming in from Hyderabad, the Telangana Open School Society i.e. TOSS has decided to cancel TOSS SSC Exam 2020 and TOSS 2nd Year Inter Exams 2020 for Class 10 and Class 12 students in the light of COVID-19 pandemic. Students from TOSS SSC and Inter Classes will be promoted to the next year on the basis of assessment scheme used for regular students. As per a Times of India Report, a the news has been confirmed by TOSS Director S Venkateswara Sharma who said that students have no reason to worry as they will all be promoted like regular students. He also added that a formal notification confirming he same will be issued by the TOSS Society in next few days.

Decision after NIOS’s Decision to Cancel 10th and 12th Exam

The Telangana Open School Society Director S Venkateswara Sharma said that the decision was taken by the society following the The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) decided to cancel the pending 10th and 12th exam examinations and instead opted to promote students on the basis of internal assessment policy. NIOS 10th and 12th Exams 2020 were cancelled by the board and Supreme Court has directed the board to declare the results for the students on the basis of internal assessment policy by 7th August 2020.

Students Failed in SSC, Inter Exams Promoted

Earlier in the month, the state government announced that all the students who have failed in SSC i.e. Class 10 Exams and 2nd Year Intermediate Exams i.e. Class 12 exams, will be promoted ahead without holding the re-exams. The decision was taken by the state government keeping in mind the health and safety of students amid the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Following this decision, there was protest from TOSS students and parents, who demanded that a similar decision be taken by the state government for them as well. Many even took to twitter to register them protest and reach out to state Chief Minsiter and Education Minister to express their concerns. Looking at the current development, it seems that the state government has considered their plea and decided to cancel TOSS SSC and Inter Exams 2020.
