THE World University Rankings 2022: As per the latest updates, Times World University Rankings 2022 has announced the top University. Among Indian Universities, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has secured a position among the top 350 rankings. While IISC Bangalore has been placed at 301-350, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has been placed in the 351-400 bracket. As beyond 200, THE World University Rankings does not assign individual ranks but places institutions in brackets instead. In the overall category, the UK’s University of Oxford has topped the list, while California Institute of Technology, Harvard University and Stanford University stand at second, third and fourth positions, respectively.

Even in the year 2021, among India varsities, the highest rank is occupied by IISc yet again, however, IIT-Delhi, Bombay, Madras are top-rankers in the Indian ranking index were not there in the top slots. This could be because the top seven IITs including Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Madras, Roorkee, and Kharagpur had boycotted THE Ranking last year. A total of 63 universities from India qualified for the ranking, however, none could make it to the top 300. While the jump of 14 more institutes is the highest jump by any country in the South Asian region.

As per the latest Times Higher Education Asia university rankings 2021, three Indian universities have obtained ranks in the top 100 list. This year IISc Bangalore, IIT Ropar and IIT Indore have secured positions among the top 100 universities in Asia. As per the list, IISc Bangalore bagged 37th position, IIT Ropar secured 55th rank and IIT-Indore- the 78th slot. Also, Institute of Chemical Technology, IIT Gandhinagar, King George Medical College, IISER Kolkata, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, Thapar University, Savitribai Phule University, Banaras Hindu University, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth are some of the other Indian universities on the list.
