IGNOU is indeed reaching places. Hence forth, eighteen African countries will benefit from courses offered by IGNOU via the Pan- African- Network Project.

The project that will join 18 African countries and the open university brought in a great news for the year 2013. Apparently, the number has increased greatly since they initiated the main project which is a  brainchild of A P J Abdul Kalam back in the year 2009.

Ignou courses include management (HR and marketing), tourism studies and diplomas in HIV/ AIDs, early childhood care and education.

The Teaching is going to happen through a two-way audio-video optic fibre link between Media Production Centre at Ignou and learning centres in Africa.

The countries part of this ambitious project are Malawi, Egypt, Rwanda, Botswana, Ghana, Cameroon, Sudan and Zambia.
