Arabic University soon to be established in Kerala
Kerala is all set to establish an International Arabic University, taking into consideration the global demand and impact of the language. The University will be of great help to those people who generally look for better job opportunities in Gulf Countries.
An International Arabic University is all set to be established in the State, by the Congress led UDF government in Kerala.
Taking the global impact of Arabic language into consideration, the Education Minister of State, PK Abdu Rabb said that the demand to set up the University was a long standing one. It would also help the large number of people going to Gulf countries in search of jobs. He also added that the arrival of Arabic language in Kerala has resulted in many cultural changes in the state.
In reply to the calling attention motion by P B Abdul Razak of Indian Union Muslim League, the Education Minister said that the state government has approved the recommendations in this regard given by Higher Education Council and steps have already been initiated to take details of Arabic Colleges in the State.
The Minister further pointed out that December 18 has been declared as the Arabic Language Day as per the call of United Nations. The Sachar Committee had also put forward the proposal for setting up an Arabic University in the State and Government would take further steps after getting the report on this issue, added the Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb.
