In 2017, IIFT has delayed the release of its official notification for the MBA Exam. The institute i.e. IIFT has broken an established convention by delaying the release of notification. Every year the institute followed the practice of releasing the notification by 15th July. It is assumed that a delay in exam notification release may result in delay of exam date for IIFT 2017.
It is also expected that the exam date of IIFT 2017 might clash with CAT 2017 exam as well. The institute has always conducted the management entrance exam on 3rd Sunday of November since many years. But, this year IIFT has not yet released the notification as it is expected that the notification for the exam will be with CAT 2017 exam the notification (which is proposed to be released on July 30).
The change in the practice has come after the appointment of the new director, Mr Binoy Kumar IAS, who is currently the new director of the institute. This is the first time during the last many years that IIFT has not been able to release the forthcoming entrance exam notification till date.

Implication of Delay in Notification
It is assumed that the delay in the notification will further delay the registration process and IIFT 2017 exam. In the previous 3 years CAT was conducted in a single day window wherein 2 sessions were conducted on the same day.
IIMs conducted CAT on Nov 30 in the year 2015 and on Dec 4 in the year 2016. It is expected that CAT 2017 would be held on Sunday December 3.
With a delay of official notification, the registration window for IIFT exam that remains open for 50 days may close in the 2nd or 3rd week of September depending upon the date of release of IIFT 2017 exam. Earlier this window used to close in the first week of September but now for IIFT 2017 it notification.
Concluding
It is predicted that the exam date of IIFT 2017 may fall on December 3 this year. Further, tt is expected that IIFT may release the 2017 exam notification any day in the 3rd week of July.
