CBSE Class 11 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level education body in India for public and private schools. CBSE Class 11 Exam Pattern 2024-25 Key Highlights
CBSE has modified the exam pattern for class 11 students to enable them to apply concepts in real life situations which align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This shift focuses on increasing understanding in students and reducing the practice of rote learning. The major changes in CBSE Class 11 Exam Pattern 2024 are-
1. More Competency-Based Questions
2. Including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
3. Less Emphasis on Traditional Answer Types
4. 50% Weightage for Competency-Based Questions- Competency based questions will help students to apply knowledge in real life scenarios. There will be multiple choice questions, case based and source integrated questions.
5. 20% Weightage for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)- These questions will help students to test critical thinking and decision making skills.
6. 30% Weightage for Constructed Response Type Questions- Fewer short and long answer questions and more competency based questions.
