CBSE : HRD Minister Honors Teachers and Mentors

On Teachers Day eve, the HRD Minister, Smt. Smriti Irani, congratulated the teachers and mentors of CBSE for their role and contribution in the field of education. Memorializing the birth anniversary of Dr. S Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, CBSE accredited the position & impact of the teachers in strengthening future generations.

Smt. Smriti Irani applauded all the awardees & highlighted the significance of teachers in instilling values in children in structuring the nation and a society.  The CBSE award was conferred on 33 teachers from across the country and abroad. The award was bestowed for their innovations in classroom teaching. The choice of the awardees is based on the academic competence and craving for development, genuine attention and status in the community, love for children, insistence and dedication towards the field of education.

The award was also given to 15 Mentors for teamwork and handholding through regular visits to group of schools. Mentors are chosen on the basis of their professional guidance, training experience, collaboration with mentee schools, positive role-modelling as well as initiating innovative practices.

These awards comprised of a Merit certificate, a cash prize of Rs 25000/- and a shawl. To facilitate lucidity in CBSE Awards, the names of proposed awardees were made public & invitations were given to responses. Sports promoting schools were also applauded to cheer all schools to organize sports events. 159 schools have organized CBSE inter - school sports events. The schools were awarded a Certificate, a plaque and a shawl.
