CBSE Starts Collecting Online Database Of Teachers

Feb 19, 2015 13:03 IST

NAGPUR: In order to get comprehensive information about the teaching staff in the CBSE affiliated schools, the board has started preparing an online database of all the teachers.

This database will include all the information about the educational attainments of the teachers, their contact details, and their residential addresses. The teachers are also being asked about their marital status and details of the research, if they had undertaken on any particular subject.

Information about yoga teachers is also being collected. The yoga teachers have to provide the details of the type of yoga exercises/asanas they specialize in. They also need to give details about their practice time, whether daily or weekly. A specific question is chalked out to ascertain details about the abilities of the teachers with respect to performing a headstand or shoulder stand and the duration for the same.

"The school has not made any kind of official statement till now for filling up this form, so we are not bothering about it. But it’s a good way for the board to know what kinds of teachers are available to teach and what subjects," said a CBSE school teacher.

This process of preparing online database of teachers by CBSE is an innovative a step To assess the effectiveness and desired outcome of this initiative the board has to make this process mandatory for all schools and with earnest efforts.
