Child safety policy will be applicable to all boards including CBSE, ICSE

The child safety policy of Karnataka Government recommends to all educational institutions under its purview to make certain conformity of all security guidelines. The BEO (block education officers) & other Government officials have been facing a predicament of aloofness when it comes to schools affiliated to CBSE, IGSE or ICSE.

The child safety policy will fill the vacuum & bring all these institutions under it. The drafting the policy has been completed and has been spearheaded by the WCD (women and child development) department and 8 not-for-profit organizations.

Why was the child safety proposal made?

The proposal for framing child safety policy was made after the rape of a girl in a school of Bangalore. Nevertheless, the panel took its time in planning the draft as it felt the policy should not be an imprudent reaction but should have prudence and should be comprehensive.
