CSIR NET 2024 December: The National Testing Agency published the notification for  CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) on 9th December. Those who are preparing for CSIR NET Exam can submit their application from 09 to 30 December.  However, the application application can be corrected from 01 to 02 January 2025. The notification and registration link are available on the official website i.e. csirnet.nta.ac.in.

CSIR NET Exam Dates 2024

The exam is scheduled to be held from 16th February to 28th February 2025 across the country. The mode of the exam will be online. Those who clear the exam will be awarded the Junior Research Fellowship and will be eligible to apply for 'Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' or 'admission to Ph.D. only' in Indian universities and colleges."

Candidates willing to apply for CSIR NET exam should note that it is very different from the UGC NET exam and it is used for only five (05) subjects including-

• Chemical Sciences
• Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
• Life Sciences
• Mathematical Sciences
• Physical Sciences

CSIR NET Educational Qualification 2024-25

Candidates willing to apply for the CSIR NET exam should have the eligibility criteria as given below-

Educational Qualification:

• Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Programme
• Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. 

Age Limit:

• JRF: Not more than 30 years
• Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in 
• Admission to PhD: There is no upper age limit

CSIR NET Salary 2024

• The stipend will be Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years. Additionally, a contingent grant of Rs. 20,000 per year will be reimbursed directly to the fellow. After completing two years as a JRF and if the fellow is registered for a Ph.D., the fellowship will be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the NET scheme. The stipend will be increased to Rs. 42,000 per month for the 3rd year and beyond, based on an evaluation of the fellow's research progress and achievements.
• If the committee does not recommend an upgrade or if the fellow is not registered for a Ph.D., the candidate will continue as a JRF with a stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month for the 3rd year. Alternatively, the fellowship may be terminated based on the committee’s recommendation, and the decision of CSIR in this regard will be final. The progress of the JRF’s research work will be assessed by a duly constituted three-member assessment committee.

How to Apply for CSIR NET 2025 ?

• Registration: Candidates can register using a unique Email ID and Mobile No. at csirnet.nta.ac.in. 
• Online Application Link: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application No. Upload legible scanned images of a recent photograph (in jpg file, size 10Kb – 200Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background; the candidate’s signature (in jpg file size: 4kb - 30kb). Duly verified Result Awaited Attestation Form (in PDF format file size: 50KB to 500KB), Category Certificate, if applicable (SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS etc.) (in PDF format file size: 50KB to 300KB) and PwD Certificate, if applicable (in PDF format file size: 50KB to 300KB).
• Pay Application Fee: Pay the prescribed fee through Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card and UPI, and keep proof of fee paid for future reference.
