Q. Did you know that we can’t burp while floating in space?
Ans. Yes, that’s true! Actually gas is made in the stomach and intestines as our digestive system breaks down food into energy. Burping is our body's way to expel excess air from our stomach through mouth. Normally whenever we burp on earth, only the gas is forced out of the stomach and all the solid and wet wastes are retained in the stomach under the effect of earth’s gravity. But in space, due to the absence of gravity, the gas expelled during burping is joined by all the solid and liquid material which causes the burp to turn into a vomit.
