Education Panels Formed For West Bengal’s 'Vision 2020 & 2030' Mission

To improve the state’s education sector within two decades, the West Bengal Higher Education Department has composed an education commission.

On 01 Oct 2013, the panel having 12 members, involving famous scientists and eminent academicians was officially launched. The panel will begin performing after the end of Diwali festive season 2013.

Headed and Led by Samir K Brahmachari (Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) the panel comprise of Kalyan Rudra (River Expert), Amitava Bose  (Former Director of IIMC-C) and Shantanu Maharaj ( Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math).

The forum has been formed by following the education road map of Mamata Banerjee's 'Vision 2020 and 2030', meant to acquire glory of education in the state.

The commission shall draw attention to the areas that call for betterment followed by bringing out solutions.
We will start work after the logistics have been taken care of and the festive season is over," As told by Kalyan Rudra, the work will be started after taking care of the logistics and end of the festive season.

The activities to be focussed by the panel will cover the state’s elementary, secondary, higher secondary, higher education, mass education, technical training, vocational education, non-formal education, and madrassa education.

The commission is to submit the interim report within six months after its first sitting, whereas the final report is to be formed and submitted within a year.
