Thousands of candidates appear for these examinations every year and very few could ultimately end up getting the posts. Hence, it becomes really important to start preparing for these examinations at an early stage so that they can have a better chance of cracking the examination. These preparations can take time according to the caliber of the candidates and their skills to attain knowledge of the papers.
Generally SSC written examinations consists of five papers in the written examination section namely, English, Reasoning, Mathematics, General Awareness and Computer knowledge. These papers can test the overall knowledge and skills of the candidates and validate their candidature at an initial level. The final selection of the candidates is done through personal interview/skill test. Mathematics, among these papers can turn out to be a tricky one which can make or break the chances of a candidate getting selected for the posts. It takes a lot of time for the candidates to master this paper and thus there should be a proper pattern of preparation done from them before the examination.
Preparation for Mathematics in first month
The paper generally deals with the basic mathematical skills of the candidates. The very first month of the candidates should go to studying basic mathematics of secondary and higher secondary level. The candidates should undergo the basic formulas, theorems and derivations of various parts of mathematics such as algebra, trigonometry, geometry, statistics and others. Reshuffling the memory and learning about these formulas and mathematical texts all over again can help the candidates immensely and make them aware of the problems that they have over the paper. This could also help identify the weaker and stronger areas of the candidates, which can be worked upon accordingly in the time to come.
Preparation for Mathematics in Second Month
The second month of preparation is quite vital for this paper as the candidates need to have a time bound practice at this period. They need to make sure that they are not taking more time than the stipulated for this particular paper, which can in turn harm the overall score of the candidates. The candidates should work on developing new skills, ideas, tricks, methods, strategies to solve questions rather depending on archaic and set norms of mathematics in this period. They could also take help from various coaching institutes, books and online portals devoted for exam preparation at this time.
Preparation for Mathematics in Third Month
The third month of the preparation should mainly be spent to speed up the process of solving answers. It should be noted that the performance of the candidates would improve with regular practice and make them less fearful about the paper. Revision of all the things that are learnt and practiced for the period can help the candidates immensely and allow them to score better in the actual examination.
