13 February
•    Noted Hindi writer Professor Ramdarash Mishra was selected for the 21st Vyas Samman for his poetry collection Aam Ke Patte published in 2004.
•    Renowned Urdu poet  and noted lyricist of Umrao Jaan, Akhlaq Mohammad Khan passed away in Aligarh after battling lung cancer
•    Delhi government announced medical benefits, financial support & higher compensation packages for various other categories of workers covered by the Industrial Workers Act
•    Reserve Bank of India changed the bank rate, a medium-term signal rate after nine years

14 February

•    As per official data released, headline inflation eased to a 26-month low at 6.55 per cent in January 2012 from 7.47 per cent in December 2011
•    Reserve Bank of India issued the ‘Draft Circular for Deployment of White Label Automated Teller Machines (WLAs) from non-bank entities
•    Senior BJP leader and Higher Education Minister of Karnataka, V S Acharya died in Bangalore following a massive cardiac arrest.

15 February
•    Two-day 44th Session of Indian Labour Conference under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister of Labour & Employment
•    EGoM headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee approved the auction route for selling 5 per cent stake in state-run oil major ONGC before the end of the current fiscal 2011-12
•    New Telecom Policy was announced by communications minister Kapil Sibal
•    Haryana government  suspended the scheme of distribution of social benefits under Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT)

16 February
•    Vice President of India, M. Hamid Ansari released the Descriptive Catalogue of Manuscripts, Descriptive Catalogue of Manuscripts of Fort William College and Fascimile copies of Rozmnama, Tarikh – i-Alfi and Ilajut Tuyur brought by the National Archives of India
•    Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Shri V.Narayanasamy, launched Minister’s Office Interface in Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System in New Delhi

17 February
•    Multi-Purpose Mi-17 V5 Helicopter Inducted into Air Force
•    The railways safety review committee, headed by former Atomic Energy Commission chairman Anil Kakodkar submitted its  report to the Union governemnt

18 February
•    President of India, Pratibha Patil launched the 2012 Pulse Polio Campaign by adminstering olio vaccine drops to eight children at Rashtrapati Bhawan

19 February
•    International Conference on Coastal and Port Engineering in Developing Countries inaugurated by nion Minister for Shipping G K Vasan
