Indian Air Force Notified Recruitment for Commission Officer Post in Meteorology Branch 2014

Indian Air Force (IAF) invited applications from eligible Male/ Female candidates for recruitment of the Commissioned Officers in the Meteorology Branch. The candidates eligible for the course may apply on or before 09 August 2014 and 16 August 2014 (for candidates of for- flung areas).

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any(Science/Math/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Sciences/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo- Physics/ Environmental Biology) from a recognized University or equivalent with minimum 50% marks

Age Limit: Between 20 to 25 years as on 01 July 2015. The Upper age limit is relaxed up to 27 years for the candidates who have completing Ph. D after the educational qualification.

Physical Standards 

• Minimum Height for Male candidates should be 157.5 cms with correlated weight.
• Minimum Height for Female/ Women should be 152 cms with correlated weight.

Pay Scale: Pay Band (PB – 3) Rs. 15,600/- to Rs, 39,100/- with Grade Pay plus other allowances as admissible.

Selection Procedure

The short listed candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in the Intelligence Test in Stage – I followed with the Psychological Test, Group Test and finally the Personal Interview in Stage - II, which will be conducted by the administration at one of the Air Force Station Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi.

Medical Examination 

Medical Examination will be conducted at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM Bengaluru based on the recommendations at AFSB. Medically Fit candidates will be detailed for Training.
