Islamic Finance course to be introduced in Hyderabad University

A Diploma Course in Islamic finance keeping in tandem with the rising demand of the subject amongst the students would get initiated in the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) from the next academic year. The One year Post-graduation programme would get conducted by the departments of Islamic studies and management at the central university based in Hyderabad.

Dean of School of Commerce and Business Management, MANUU, Mohammed Abdul Azeem said, “It will be open to all graduates and will have six papers dealing with different aspects of Islamic finance.” The University had signed recently a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute Ltd., and the programme is a result of the same. The university that offer M.Com and MBA courses had introduced a compulsory paper on Islamic finance and banking for third semester students. BSE institute has also agreed to train MANUU faculty and provide expert facility and certification to the students.

According to the chancellor of MANUU, Zafar Sareshwala, it is a big achievement for MANUU to be associated with BSE Institute and this would certainly boost the morale of students who feel insecure and inferior on various grounds. The skills provided by the institute through its experience would also help students of MANUU to land into better job opportunities once they pass out. Those students who pass out from the Madrasas or Islamic seminaries would get highly benefited from this course.
