MICA Admission 2018: MICAT-II application closes on 5th February

MICA has announced the MICAT II MBA entrance test application details. Interested candidates can apply for MICAT II before 5thFebruary 2018.

MICA – one of the top MBA colleges in India, has announced the admission notification for MICAT II MBA entrance test. As per the official notification, the MICAT II application procedure would remain open until 5th February and interested MBA aspirants can apply for the same before that. MICA – The School of Ideas, conducts its own test by the name of MICAT for the flagship Post Graduate programme in Communication Management, popularly known as PGDM – C programme. 

In case you have missed the MICAT – I for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Communication Management, you have another chance to apply online for MICAT – II latest by 5th February, 2018. MICA Ahmedabad is considered as India’ premier B-school, and a one of its kind when it comes to the study of strategic marketing communication.

If you have not done well in your CAT 2017 or XAT 2018 score, you can opt to appear for MICAT II – the mandatory MBA entrance test conducted by MICA for admission in its flagship programme, PGDM – C.

Looking at the past trends, the difficulty level of the MICAT II exam is expected to be moderate. MICAT- II is the 2nd entrance test for the 2018-20 batch for the flagship programme, PGDM – C of MICA. Candidates need to apply online at MICA’s official website with a registration fee of Rs. 1965/- in order to confirm their registration for MICAT II entrance test.

Selection process at MICA

Candidates have to go through the following steps in order to secure admission to PGDM-C 2018-20programme at MICA:

  • Stage I -  Appear for CAT 2017, XAT 2018 or GMAT (2016 onwards)
  • Stage II – Register and apply for MICAT – the mandatory test for MICA Admission
  • Stage III – Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) round

MICAT II: One more chance to admission in MICA Ahmedabad

Now that MICAT – I results are out, MICA is giving you one more chance to apply for its flagship programme through MICAT –II. For Candidates who appear in both MICAT exams, the best of two scores will be considered for evaluation.

MICAT-II – Key Components

The MICAT-II will judge your potential on the basis of:

  • Analytical and Verbal ability
  • Convergent &Divergent thinking
  • Written communication skills
  • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

In addition, you should also have sound knowledge in general awareness related to areas in Media, Advertising, Marketing and Business.

Therefore, if you love reading newspapers and are intelligent with an analytical bent of mind, you are at a good position to crack the exam.

The GI and PI round at MICA doesn’t require prior preparation, however, you should have good knowledge from the field of Strategic Marketing and Communication.

Selection parameter for GE-PI

In order to clear the GE-PI round, you need to crack the Psychometric test. The GMAT/XAT/CAT will be considered thereafter for those who qualify the Psychometric test. After you quality based on the CAT/XAT cut-off or GMAT score, your performance will be further evaluated through MICAT, which comprises 4 sections: Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), Verbal ability (VA), General awareness (GA), and Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT). After passing this test, you need to go through a descriptive test and finally through the GD-PI Rounds.

Approximately, 1/10th of the total number of MICAT test takers are shortlisted for GD-PI. MICA has an intake capacity of 180 students in PGDM-C 2018-20 batch, and the fee for this programme is Rs. 16.50 lakhs for 2 years.

MICAT-II: Timetable

The MICAT – II exam will be held on 17th February, 2018. The call letters for GD-PI will be issued on 1st March, 2018 to the eligible candidates. The final result will be announced on 31st March, 2018 for admission. Take a look at the following table for key dates:
