The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is all set to conduct the national talent search examination for students studying in class tenth for the academic year, 2013 of national talent search scheme.
The talent search scheme covers areas like sciences, social sciences, engineering, medicine, management and law. The scheme will provide financial assistance to the students in the form of monthly scholarship.
The assistance will be provided up to the PhD level for the courses in basic sciences, social sciences and commerce. For the professional courses like engineering, medicine, management and law, this assistance will be provided only up to post graduate level.
All the students of class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the stage-I examination, conducted by the states/ UTs.
The pattern of written examination for class X will be:
• Stage-I examination at the state/UT level will comprise two parts (a) mental ability test (MAT) and (b) scholastic aptitude test (SAT)
• Stage-II examination at the national level will comprise (a) mental ability test (MAT) and (b) scholastic aptitude test (SAT).
Results of the Stage-I examination will be announced by the respective state governments and union territories, however results of Stage-II examination will be announced by NCERT. On the basis of the exam, thousand scholarships will be awarded to students. The amount of scholarship will be Rs five hundred per month.
