NEET Cut Off 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 on May 2024. Most students perceive the exam as moderately difficult with Biology being the easiest section of question paper. Now, candidates are anxious to know the NEET cut off or the NEET qualifying marks to determine their eligibility for admission to the desired medical colleges.
NEET Cut Off 2024
The NEET UG exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) acts as a gateway for admission to government medical colleges in India. To get through this gateway, a candidate is required to score above a certain minimum on the exam. This minimum score is called the NEET Cutoff/ Qualifying Marks/ Passing Marks. This score determines whether a candidate is eligible for admission to medical courses in India or not.
Thus, the NEET UG cut off score determines a candidate's eligibility to participate in the counselling process for admission to MBBS/BDS/AYUSH courses across the top medical colleges in India. While the official NEET 2024 cutoff will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with NEET 2024 Result, here's an analysis of the expected cut-offs with category-wise breakdowns based on previous years' trends and expert predictions.

How to Calculate NEET Cut Off 2024
There's no direct formula to calculate NEET cut off. The National Testing Agency (NTA) determines the NEET cut-off marks after the exam is conducted, based on several factors. These factors include:
- The total number of students who took the exam
- The difficulty level of that particular NEET exam
- The number of seats available in medical colleges across India
Since these factors vary from year to year, the NEET cut-off marks also change.

NEET UG 2024: Tie Breaking Criteria
This year, NTA will be following new tie breaking rules for NEET 2024.
Old NEET Tie Breaking Rule: Earlier NTA used to consider the scores in biology (zoology and botany), chemistry, and physics in sequential order for tie breaking purposes. If the tie still remained, negative marks were used, followed by age, with the older candidate receiving the higher rank.
New NEET Tie Breaking Rule: Candidate obtaining higher marks in Biology followed by Chemistry, and then Biology will be considered for tie breaking. If the tie still persists, eligible candidates will be chosen with the help of a computer-generated draw with no human intervention.
NEET 2024 Admission Cut Off vs NEET Qualifying Cut Off
NEET candidates must note that the NEET cut off marks are not the same as the NEET admission cut off.
- The NEET CutOff is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in his/her respective category to qualify for the exam. This minimum percentile makes the candidate eligible to participate in state and central counselling process for admission to the medical colleges. The NEET qualifying percentile is decided by the NTA
- Whereas, the NEET Admission Cut Off is the minimum marks or scores that NEET-qualified candidates have to secure for getting admission into an MBBS or BDS course in a particular medical or dental college in India. The NEET admission cut off, is released by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and state conducting authorities.
