NSTL was established on 20 August 1969 to undertake research and development of major naval systems and underwater weapons for the Indian Navy to make it self-reliant.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Senior Research fellow (P): Candidate should be M.Tech.
- Junior Research fellow: Candidate should be B.Tech in ECE, Electrical, Mechanical and Physics
Age Limit
- Senior Research fellow (P): Candidate age should not be crossed than 32 years as on closing date for receipt of application.
- Junior Research fellow: Candidate age should not be crossed than 28 years as on closing date for receipt of application.
Selection process
Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in interview.
