Relaxation in Class XI admission norms for minorities and OBCs

    The Education Department has declared relaxation to minorities and the OBC (non-creamy layer) students for getting admission in Class XI, Commerce and Science streams of government schools. Students can avail this relaxation under its prescribed criteria only. Kiran Walia, Education Minister of Delhi said that the education department has set criteria for students who are willing to get admission in commerce and science streams offered by the government schools according which
    student must possess minimum 7 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and B2 as minimum grade in all three major subjects are Science, Math and English.

    According to the criteria, students belonging to differently-abled, SC/ST and Kashmiri categories has relaxation of 1 grade point in any one subject is permitted. And now students of minority and OBC category can avail the benefit of the relaxation.

    The students willing to get admission in commerce with maths, 6.6 minimum CGPA is required along with a C1 grade in Social Science and  maths with  B2 as minimum grade. Alongside students seeking admission in commerce without maths stream, at least 6 CGPA and C1 grade in Social Science and English/Hindi.
