Those appointed would be eligible for other allowances as admissible under the Rules.
All educational qualifications should be from recognized Board/Institution.
Additional weight-age during the interview will be given to the candidates having knowledge of swimming and diving.
Physical Standards
Height: Minimum -- 160 cm (5’ 4”)
157.5 cm (5’ – 3”) [ for candidates belonging to ST (H) and ST (P)]
Chest: 77.7 cm (31”) in normal position and 82.5cm (33”) on expansion.
The recruitment test will be conducted at the Regional Training Centre, Sila, North Guwahati. Application will be received at the Head Quarter, State Fire Service Organisation, Assam, Panbazar, Guwahati-1, personally or by post except on Sundays and Govt. holidays. The last date of receipt of application is 14.12.2012.
Selection Procedure: Final selection will be done on the basis of overall merit based on the total marks obtained by a candidate in the physical test, written test and viva- voce / oral test. Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will undergo the physical measurement and fitness test. Those found fit and having no physical deformity will participate in the physical test, written test and viva- voce / oral test. Candidates must qualify in each event individually.
a) Physical Test (All Categories):

For Fireman and Emergency Rescuer: Marks obtained by candidates in physical test / Interview will decide merit list for final selection.
For Station Officers / Sub-Officers: Marks obtained in the written test, physical test and oral test will be complied together to determine merit list for selection of candidates.
The selected candidates will have to report for medical test / Police verification etc.
All candidates will have to appear in the test/ interview at their own expense.
Candidates will be intimated about Date and time of the written test and viva- voce / oral test & physical interview in due course.
