SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2024: The Staff Selection Commission has announced the tentative vacancies for the post of Stenographer Grade C and D on its official website. Candidates can check the post-wise vacancies at ssc.gov.in. According to the notice, SSC aims to fill 1,976 vacancies for the stenographer positions. Out of these, 1,687 are reserved for 'Grade C' posts and 239 are for 'Grade D'.
SSC Stenographer 2024 exam was conducted on December 10 and 11 at various exam centers across the country. Following the examination, the results were officially declared on March 6, 2024. Along with the results, SSC also released category-wise cut-off marks and a provisional selection list for the upcoming skill test.
SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2024 Post-wise
As per the official notification, the commission has announced a total of 1,926 vacancies for the stenographer posts. The breakdown of vacancies is as follows:
- Grade C Vacancies: 239 posts
- Grade D Vacancies: 1,687 posts

SSC Stenographer Result
SSC conducted the Paper 1 on December 10 and 11 at various exam centers and results for the same was declared on March 6. Candidates can access their result by logging in using their registration number and date of birth.
A total of 9,345 candidates have been shortlisted for the Skill Test for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C,’ while 26,610 candidates have qualified for the Skill Test for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D.
The final answer key and marks of both qualified and non-qualified candidates will be released in the due course of time.
SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2024: What’s Next?
Candidates who have successfully cleared the Computer-Based Test (CBT) are now eligible for the Skill Test, which is the next crucial stage in the selection process. It is qualifying in nature wherein candidates will be given a dictation passage to transcribe on a computer. They need to complete the test in 10 minutes.
