The Aam Aadmi Clinics on 15 August 2022, have been a silent power shake of the Punjab health system. The Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s initiative has become the strongest pillar of the state’s grassroots health system providing cheap, simple, and reliable medical services. As of October 2025, there are in total 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics operating in Punjab—316 in urban localities and 565 in the rural areas.
More than 42 million patients have been treated at these clinics, and more than 8 million free diagnostic tests have been performed. Today, close to 73,000 people are getting these benefits every day. A very important point is that 54% of the patients are women, which indicates their growing access to and trust in health care services.
The clinics provide 107 essential medicines and 47 diagnostic tests completely free of cost. Patient satisfaction is remarkably high—98% of people received all required medicines directly from the clinic. The fact that 2.7 crore patients returned for treatment clearly shows that the public has wholeheartedly accepted the quality of these services.
These clinics have helped people save nearly ₹2,000 crore in out-of-pocket medical expenses. Digital registration, online reports, and an IT-enabled management system have made the entire process faster, easier, and more transparent.
Chief Minister Mann says, “Our priority is to ensure that every person receives respectful, free, and quality healthcare.”
Today, Aam Aadmi Clinics are not just centres for treatment—they have become a strong foundation for a healthier, safer, and more inclusive Punjab.
