Steps to manage stress
We Should Relax Our Body: When we tend to study at a stretch without much movement our body starts to give up. The back starts to ache, the neck and shoulder regions feel tired, legs stiffen and we start feeling way too uncomfortable to actually concentrate for long. We must then resort to stretching our body to promote proper blood circulation and thus release the tension that has been building up with all the studying.
Simple stretching of the strain areas such as your neck, back, shoulders, and the gut region should be of a lot of help. One should remember that, the exercises should be done for ten seconds each and the whole exercise should not last you for more than 2 minutes. Always keep in mind the exercises should be directed to release pressure and if you’re feeling pain then u r working too hard.
One can also resort to massaging oneself to reduce the pressure built. Well, definitely I am not asking you to run to the nearest spa bar or masseur but simply massaging yourself with the tip of your fingers will do. The neck, the eye lids, behind the ear are hotspots that should be focused on and massaged for a relief.
Another step that can be taken is to simply wash your hands and feet with warm water. This is generally done to feel a sense of calmness in one. Moreover you must have noticed often due to stress our palms start to sweat excessively or our fingers turn cold and numb. So when this happens you can simply use some warm water to wash your hands and your face. For sweaty palms you can even resort to cold water. This is done to improve blood circulation in the body.
Relax Your Mind: When a person feels stressed his mind often is clouded by negative thoughts and distractions. In order to bring about a balance in this, one must clear his mind of all such negative thoughts. People have many alternatives to tackle this, some take long walks, some breathe deeply and the tricks can go on. What a person can do is chalk out a plan to be followed to reset his mind. He could take a walk and while walking could even practice heavy breathing. Other mind soothing distractions could be soft music, a game. These distractions should be fewer than 3-5 minutes.
Other simple methods could be to stay happy as this would definitely help us to keep our mind clear and positive. We could fill our surrounding with positive energies and above all we can even look for positive support. Such simple steps can help us in resetting our minds and thus bringing about a clearer and stress free presence of mind.
Prevent stress: We have heard the age old proverb, ‘to nip in the bud’, meaning why should we deal with stress when we can avoid it in the first place. Before we go on to learn how to avoid stress we should first learn what causes stress to us and accordingly avoid such issues. Body needs like hunger, thirst, tiredness, extreme weather conditions lead us to stress. What we often forget is that we should not simply jump directly into studying. One should understand his own body needs, he should not be feeling either thirsty or hungry, neither cold nor hot. He should be mentally and physically prepared to actually sit and study. Moreover we should also have a good night sleep before starting to study. Such steps will definitely increase our productivity and we will definitely get to see results.
